Kathmandu. In light of the escalating tensions developing in the Middle East, the Government of Nepal has urged Nepali citizens in Israel and Iran to exercise high vigilance and remain safe. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and, through an advisory issued on Saturday, also requested that people refrain from traveling to these two countries for the time being.
The statement issued by the Ministry requested Nepalis in Israel and Iran to fully comply with the security advisories and directives issued by the respective government and security agencies there.
Citizens have been advised to stay indoors as much as possible, remain alert, take necessary precautions, and maintain constant contact with the Nepali community in their area. Furthermore, the Ministry cautioned against undertaking any travel without prior approval from local authorities.
Similarly, the Ministry strongly advised Nepali citizens preparing to travel to Israel or Iran for employment or any other purpose to immediately postpone their travel plans until the situation in both countries normalizes.
Nepali nationals residing and working in other Middle Eastern countries have also been urged to continuously monitor the developing events and adopt the precautionary measures suggested by the authorities of the respective countries.
In case of any emergency or for necessary information and coordination, the Ministry has also published contact details. Citizens have been requested to remain in constant contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu, the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, and the Nepali Embassy in Doha, Qatar.
